Policies

Booking & Consultations

  • A meet and greet is required for all new clients.

  • Last minute or emergency bookings without a meet and greet may be considered on a case by case basis.

  • Detailed care instructions and emergency contacts are required prior to the start of services.

Visiting Length & Care Time

  • Visit times begin at 30 minutes (Standard), 45 minutes (Extended) or 1 hour (Specialized).

  • Care time includes cleaning, observation, and enrichment activities.

  • Visits may be extended in 15-minute increments when needed.

  • Species requiring higher levels of enrichment or hands-on care may require extended or specialized visits.

Rates, Fees, & Payments

  • Rates are based on visit length, number of pets, and level of care required.

  • A multi-pet discount applies when caring for multiple pets during the same visit.

  • Payment is due 48 hours prior to the start of services.

  • Additional fees may apply for Extended Service areas or Specialized Care routines.

Cancellations & Schedule Changes

  • Cancellations or changes must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Same day cancellations will be charged 50% of the first scheduled day of care.

Emergency & Veterinary Care

  • Every effort will be made to contact the pet owner and a designated alternate in the event of an emergency.

  • If neither party can be reached are two attempts each, medical decisions will be deferred to the attending veterinarian’s professional judgement.

  • All veterinary care, treatment, and related expenses are the responsibility of the pet owner.

Medications & Medical Needs

  • Oral medications, topical treatments, and routine medical care can be administered as instructed. Dosage must be provided.

  • I do not diagnose conditions or alter prescribed treatments.

  • Pets with complex or time-sensitive medical needs may require a Specialized Care visit.

Live Feeding

  • Live feeding must be disclosed in advance of booking.

  • Live feeding of vertebrate prey (such as live rodents) is not provided.

  • Live feeding of invertebrates (such as insects) may be provided.

  • Invertebrate feeding requires clear written instructions and appropriate containment to prevent escape.

  • Any insect provided must be safe, appropriately sized for the species, and supplied by the client unless otherwise agreed upon.

  • If a pet refuses or feeding cannot be completed safely, the feeding attempt will be documented and communicated to the owner.

Exotic & Special Needs Pets

  • Care for exotic, senior, or special needs pets is welcome and encouraged with proper instructions.

  • Some species may require additional time, specialized handling, or equipment.

  • Services may be declined if safe or appropriate care cannot be provided.

Access to Home

  • Clients must provide safe and reliable access to the home during scheduled visits.

  • Any changes to access instructions must be communicated in advance.

Safety & Environment

  • Pets must be housed in safe, secure enclosures appropriate for their species.

  • I reserve the right to decline or discontinue services if conditions are unsafe for the pet or sitter.

  • Clients must disclose if any other individuals will be present in the home during scheduled visits, including family members, roommates, house guests, contractors, or other service providers.

  • For safety and liability reasons, services may be modified or declined if undisclosed individuals are present at the time of service.

Updates & Communications

  • Visit updates will be provided during or within 1 hour after scheduled visits.

  • Non-urgent messages may be responded to during business hours of 08:00 AM - 2:00 PM CST

Service Area & Travel

  • Services are provided within listed primary and extended service areas.

  • Travel fees may apply outside the primary service area and will be confirmed prior to booking.

Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service

  • I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services if policies are not followed, if care needs exceed what was agreed upon, or if safety concerns arise.
